Mission Statement

A connecting point between the compassionate and Winnipeg’s less fortunate, Siloam Mission is a Christian humanitarian agency offering programs and services at no charge to those experiencing homelessness.

Siloam Mission alleviates the hardships of the poor and homeless, assists in transitioning them into self-sufficient and generous lifestyles, and advocates nationwide on their behalf.

Statement of Beliefs

• We believe in one God who has expressed Himself in personal ways. We know God’s personality as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• We believe the Bible communicates God’s saving message and is our reliable authority in all matters related to faith and Christian living.
• We believe all humankind struggles with a downward pull.
• We believe that unless we experience God’s help and salvation through a faith commitment to Jesus Christ, our future is one of eternal separation from God and all that is good.
• We believe the love and grace of God is extended to every person in the provision Jesus Christ made through His death and resurrection. By turning from our own selfishness and trusting Jesus Christ, we experience a new life, free from the old patterns of self-destructive acts called sin.
• We believe our new life in Jesus Christ is the gateway to transformation. Following our moment of faith in and acceptance of Jesus, we believe there is another moment in which we present our life completely to Christ in order to live under His authority and experience His transforming power.
• We believe the Christian experience is more than a change of mind. It is accompanied by assurance grounded in both the Scriptures as well as the inner witness of God’s Spirit.
• We believe all who live for Jesus Christ have an eternal future. Our belief in such a future includes both the fulfillment of God’s creative purpose as well as the accountability of all persons endowed with the power of choice.

• We are a faith-based and faith-operated organization.
• We believe in the leading, anointing and provision of God, which supersedes the best efforts, talents and knowledge of human beings.
• We treat the less fortunate as objects of God’s love, mercy and grace who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
• We believe people should perform compassionate acts without ulterior motives; compassion is a legitimate and biblical expression of God’s care and love for hungry, homeless and hurting people.
• We believe Christ’s death and resurrection are mankind’s only eternal hope.
• We believe the love and forgiveness of God is adequate and available for all.
• We believe the relevance of the Bible and that it transcends time and culture.
• We believe the universal Church is Christ’s representative in word and deed.
• We believe in networking with compassionate people of all denominations and faiths.
• We believe our volunteers are vital to accomplish our mandates.
• We believe in the equality of all human beings.
• We believe that contributions of other inner-city agencies and ministries, both Christian and non-Christian, will help us alleviate the hardships of homelessness and poverty.
