Fake Siloam Representatives Scamming Winnipeggers
Door-to-door solicitors for Siloam Mission are a scam, not associated with Siloam

Winnipeg, MB (December 20, 2011) – Siloam Mission today is receiving reports from Winnipeg residents who were approached by door-to-door solicitors asking for donations for the downtown homeless shelter.

These solicitors are not associated with Siloam Mission. The donations do not benefit the organization.

Siloam Mission does not engage in any door-to-door solicitation, and is asking people to be careful whom they give donations to.

“Please don’t believe anyone who is knocking on your door and asking for donations for Siloam,” says Floyd Perras, executive director.

“We’re asking people who are being approached by these fake representatives to contact us.”

The safest way to donate to Siloam Mission is by responding to the direct mail appeals sent out earlier this month, online at www.siloam.ca, by phone at 956-4344 or in person at 300 Princess St.
