Huge Bird Donation Lands At Siloam Just In Time For Christmas
Color Ad Packaging Donates 102 Turkeys, $4k To Homeless Shelter

Winnipeg, MB (December 13, 2011) – A big donation of turkeys is landing at Siloam Mission today just in time for the downtown shelter’s big Christmas dinner expected to serve more than 700 guests.

The Winnipeg-based Color Ad Group is dropping off the 51 cases today at 11:15 a.m. at Siloam Mission’s loading dock – and the owner is flying in from Toronto to personally deliver the birds as well as a $4,000 donation.

“We’re pleased to lend a hand. Siloam Mission is on the front line in the battle against hunger,” says Ray Chang, who was named Outstanding Philanthropist of 2010 by the Toronto chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

“Our partnership with Siloam represents our commitment to the welfare of the City of Winnipeg.”

Along with Mr. Chang, Color Ad CEO Ty Schneider will also help unload the 560 kg. turkey donation and tour the facilities.

The generous gift comes on the eve of Siloam’s big Christmas dinner on December 24th.

Volunteers have already started preparing turkeys for the meal, but were still short on supplies – including turkey, mixed veggies and potatoes – to complete enough meals.

“These turkeys are flying in at the right time,” says Floyd Perras, executive director of Siloam Mission.

“To have a local company approach us out of the blue with a huge donation, and for the owner and CEO to fly in just to deliver that donation, is almost unheard of. We’re beyond honoured and excited to partner with Color Ad and welcome their executive team for a tour of Siloam Mission.”

EDITORS, PLEASE NOTE: Ray Chang, Ty Schneider and Floyd Perras will unload the turkeys at the rear loading dock of Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., at 11:15 a.m. today. All three are available for media interviews.
