Siloam Mission Hosts Annual Easter Meal for Winnipeggers Experiencing Poverty and Homelessness
WINNIPEG, MB (April 17, 2025) – On Thursday, April 17, 2025, Siloam Mission will serve a traditional Easter meal to nearly 700 individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in Winnipeg.
The Easter meal is one of the organization’s busiest and most valued events of the year. Staff and volunteers will work together to prepare and serve a warm, welcoming holiday lunch to members of the community.
The meal will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Siloam Mission’s Drop-In Centre, located at 303 Stanley Street (main South entrance).
This cherished annual event not only offers a nourishing holiday meal but also serves as a moment of connection, celebration, and compassion for those facing poverty and homelessness. With the support of dedicated volunteers and staff, Siloam Mission continues its commitment to providing dignity, hope, and care to every person who come through its doors.
“There’s something meaningful about sitting down to a warm meal with others, especially when life feels uncertain,” says Julianne Aitken, Interim CEO of Siloam Mission. “At Easter, we do our best to create a moment that feels safe and dignified. Sometimes that’s more powerful than we realize.”
